This challenge is to generate an awareness campaign in support of someone or something who does not have the ability to mobilize on an issue. In this Challenge, GOOD would ask participants for ideas on who - or what - they would “give a voice” to and how they would go about doing it.
Perhaps they’d give a voice to shelter animals by crowd-sourcing photos of happily rescued mutts in support of an animal adoption awareness campaign in their city. (*Something I might do, à la photo of the beloved mutt on the end of my leash.) Maybe they’d prefer to speak for the trees, for the whales, for an old historic building, or a local park. The winner gets $500 to give a voice to the voiceless.
I believe this Challenge will draw very creative submissions. It’s vague, but specific, and there’s an innate creativity requirement since participants must imagine what the subject they are championing would want to say, if they only could. As humans, we are in a special position to rally for those who cannot mobilize themselves. Let’s!
