The Idea

Global sustainability problems can be daunting and overwhelming. It can seem impossible to create change on your own or see. However, if we each do 3 simple tasks to change our behaviors, then we can change the world into a greener world.

The Specifics

All it takes is 3 changes; whether it be buying fair trade coffee in a reusable mug, recycling all recyclables or repurposing them, or using energy and water in a conscientious way, we can make a difference. I would use the funds to create marketing tools and promotion items to make it easier for people to follow through on their 3 steps to a green world. This challenge would have people submit their own 3 simple ideas on how they can create a greener world. Other people could then attempt to change their behaviors with those ideas or submit their own. It would be a global forum that is simple, relatable, and attainable. If everyone takes 3 steps to a greener world, then change is inevitable.

Sounds like a great idea. I wonder what is the idea behind the number 3? Why not 1, 5, or 10?

I thought 3 was a good number because it is enough change to feel like you are making a difference but not too much to seem overwhelming, burdensome, or unattainable.
